Art Edu (Caution)

17 Maret 2008
After 23 years of absence from art events and activities, in 2008 the Fine Arts Education Study Program FKIP UNS initiated an activity to commemorate the 32nd UNS Anniversary. , and students, art education seminars, and coloring contests at the kindergarten level as well as poster competitions for senior high schools throughout Surakarta.
The series of activities which have become an important foundation are entitled Art Edu (Caution). This title is meant as an affirmation that the Study Program, which has been suspended from activities for quite a long time, is still there, as well as an internal warning to all members of the Fine Arts Education Study Program to wake up from a long sleep and have the awareness that this Study Program must live with passion for activities. in the field of art education.
It’s not easy to start something new, but all the resources in the Fine Arts Education Study Program FKIP UNS try to unite vision, thought and creativity. All of them were forced to learn to organize activities. This is felt by both lecturers and students. Previously, joint work between lecturers and students in organizing an activity had never happened. An activity committee was soon formed. Each sub-activity is chaired and coordinated by students.
Art Edu (Caution) as a stepping stone is an important activity that marks the revival of the FKIP UNS Fine Arts Education Study Program.

Events
A total of 80 works were exhibited at the Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah (TBJT) art gallery. The works of lecturers, alumni and students on display are in the form of two-dimensional and three-dimensional works.

The Seminar on Fine Arts Education which took place in the seminar room building A FKIP UNS took the theme “The Role of Arts Education in Improving Aesthetic Intelligence and Forming Character Generations”. The theme of this seminar is also in line with the motto of FKIP UNS “Strong and Smart Character”.
Questioning the importance of this aesthetic intelligence, in his foreword Drs. Tjahjo Prabowo, M.Sn, stated: “The selection of this theme departs from the understanding that aesthetic intelligence is as important as reasoning intelligence, emotional intelligence and physical intelligence in human life. Therefore, it is only natural that the Fine Arts Education Study Program, FKIP UNS, as a teacher training higher education institution that produces prospective fine arts teachers, cares about the aesthetic intelligence of art appreciation so that this intelligence is not solely left to the television media which currently seems to have become a cultural teacher for students in schools and the wider community in general”
